# Choose AI recommendations or pick products yourself

Recommended products can be chosen for you or by you. In **Product upsell** or **Side product upsell**, go to the **Products** area and choose **AI recommendations** or **Manual selection**.

Let's choose the option that fits your store.

## Choose how products are picked

1. In your Shopify admin, open **Adoric Cart**, then click your cart in the **Carts** list.
2. At the top of the left panel, click the **Cart** tab.
3. Under **Body**, click **Product upsell** or **Side product upsell**.
4. In the **Products** area, choose one option:
* **AI recommendations**: Adoric Cart picks the products for you.
* **Manual selection**: You choose the products to recommend.
## Set up AI recommendations

1. Under **Recommendation type**, choose the type, for example **Related**.
2. Click **Open Search & Discovery**.
3. In the Shopify Search & Discovery app, set at least 1 product.
> **AI recommendations** need at least 1 product set in the Shopify Search & Discovery app. Without it, no products appear.

## Add a discount to recommended products

1. In the **Products** area, find **Discount**.
2. Choose **Percentage** and enter the amount, for example 10%.
3. Optional: In the **Settings** area, select **Sale badge** to show "Save {{saved_amount}}."
## Choose how many products to show

Under **Show products**, set how many recommended products shoppers see.

## Check the result

Look at the live preview on the right of the cart editor. It shows your recommended products.

When you're happy with it, click **Save** in the top bar. To show the cart to shoppers, turn on the **Cart status** switch in the top bar, so the cart shows **Active**.
