# Create, save, and activate your cart

You build each cart in the cart editor, save it with **Save**, and make it live with the **Cart status** switch. A cart is live for shoppers when it shows **Active**.

Let's create a cart, save it, and turn it on.

## Open the cart editor

You can open the cart editor in 3 ways from the Adoric Cart home page:

* Click a cart in the **Carts** list.
* Click **⋯** next to a cart, then click **Edit**.
* Click **Create cart** to start a new cart.

A new cart starts with the name "Cart name" and the status **Inactive**.

## Name your cart

1. In the top bar, click the cart name.
2. Enter a new name, for example "Summer sale cart."

The name helps you find the cart. Shoppers don't see it.

## Save or discard your changes

When you change something, **Discard** and **Save** appear in the top bar.

* **Save**: Keeps your changes.
* **Discard**: Removes every change since you last saved.

||| If you close the cart editor without saving, your changes are lost.

## Turn your cart on or off

1. In the top bar, turn on the **Cart status** switch. The cart shows **Active**.
2. To hide the cart from shoppers, turn the switch off. The cart shows **Inactive**.

You can also turn a cart on or off with the switch next to it in the **Carts** list on the home page.

## Check the result

On the home page, your cart shows **Active** in the **Carts** list. Open your store, add a product, and check that your cart opens.

| Your cart also needs the Adoric Cart app embed turned on in your theme.
