# Customize your empty cart

You can design the cart that shoppers see before they add a product. Click the **Empty cart** tab at the top of the left panel, then click **Empty cart general**.

A friendly empty cart keeps shoppers browsing. For example: "Your cart is empty" with a **Continue shopping** button. Let's set it up.

## Open the empty cart

1. In your Shopify admin, open **Adoric Cart**, then click your cart in the **Carts** list.
2. At the top of the left panel, click the **Empty cart** tab.
3. Click **Empty cart general**.
The live preview now shows the empty cart.

## Choose the icon

1. Turn on the **Icon** toggle.
2. Click one of the 8 icons, or click **Upload custom icon** to use your own.
3. Change the icon's **Color** and **Size**. The default size is 64.
## Write the title and subtitle

* **Title**: The main message. The default is "Your cart is empty."
* **Subtitle**: A short line under the title. The default is "All cart items appear here."
Use the text toolbar to change the size and color, make the text bold, italic, or underlined, or add an emoji.

## Set up the button

1. Turn on the **Button** toggle.
2. Enter the button text. The default is "Continue shopping."
3. Under **Action**, choose what the button does. The default is **Close cart drawer**.
4. Under **Style**, choose **Solid** or **Outline**, then change the **Background**, **Border**, and **Roundness**.
> You can also show recommended products in the empty cart. Under **Upsell**, turn on **Product upsell** or **Side product upsell**.

## Check the result

Look at the live preview on the right of the cart editor. It shows your empty cart.

When you're happy with it, click **Save** in the top bar. To show the cart to shoppers, turn on the **Cart status** switch in the top bar, so the cart shows **Active**.
