# Recommend products in your cart

You can show recommended products inside your cart with **Product upsell**. Go to **Cart** tab > **Body** > **Product upsell** and turn on the **Product upsell** toggle. Then choose a layout and products.
Recommended products help shoppers find something else they'll love, and can raise your average order value. Let's add them.
## Add recommended products to your cart
1. In your Shopify admin, open **Adoric Cart**, then click your cart in the **Carts** list.
2. At the top of the left panel, click the **Cart** tab.
3. Under **Body**, turn on the **Product upsell** toggle, then click **Product upsell**.
4. In the **Layout** area, click **Horizontal**, **Vertical**, or **List**.
The live preview shows how each layout looks.
## Choose which products to show
In the **Products** area, change these options:
* **AI recommendations** or **Manual selection**: Let AI choose the products, or pick them yourself.
* **Recommendation type**: Choose the kind of products to recommend, for example **Related**.
* **Discount**: Offers a discount on recommended products, for example a **Percentage** discount of 10%.
* **Show products**: Use the **−** and **+** buttons to choose how many products to show.
|| **AI recommendations** use the products you set in the Shopify Search & Discovery app. At least 1 product is required. Click **Open Search & Discovery** to set them up.
## Change the title and settings
In the **Settings** area:
1. In **Title**, enter the heading shoppers see, for example "You may also like."
2. Optional: Select **Hide upsell for products already in cart**. Products already in the cart won't be recommended.
3. Optional: Select **Remove upsells when cart is empty**.
4. Optional: Select **Sale badge** to show the amount saved, for example "Save {{saved_amount}}."
5. Optional: Change the **Background** and **Border**.
## Check the result
Look at the live preview on the right of the cart editor. The recommended products appear under your title, each with an **Add** button.
When you're happy with it, click **Save** in the top bar. To show the cart to shoppers, turn on the **Cart status** switch in the top bar, so the cart shows **Active**.
